This past school year the Lake City After School Program and our After School ELL offering at Olympic Hills Elementary School was the beneficiary of some excellent UW Bothell student engagement and their community-based learning program. As tutors to the grade school students they would engage the ELL learners and be a source of encouragement and engagement that equally benefited all who participated.
On May 27th Kara Adams, Director of Community\-Based Learning and Research at UW Bothell invited all partners involved to a day of recognition. It was a wonderful opportunity to network with other partners, hear about their areas of focus and learn how this great resource impacts our communities. Additionally, a very timely presentation by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Susan Jeffords was offered and she shared insights in how this wonderful puzzle works as its put together each year.
Thank you UW Bothell!
