Plant for the Planet visits Meadowbrook

A youth movement that began in Europe has a local flavor.  Plant for the Planet (http://www.plant-for-the-planet.org) is dedicated to a simple idea. The website actually has rolling counter as trees all over the world get planted.  The reduction of green house gasses is the benefit of this worthwhile effort.  The local chapter of Plant for the Planet met at University Unitarian Church for lunch and a talk this beautiful May day.  Afterwards the group of youth and parents headed over to Meadowbrook where urban farms, orchards and community gardens all are focused on just that endeavor.

Inspiration and perspiration can go hand-in-hand and this day was that and more!  Focused on their future and supported by their parents, the group on this day engaged and shared their energy and spirit to the task at hand.  Tours of both parts of MCGO at Meadowbrook Park were inspiring to the community group as well.  The future and hard work going forward is a multi-generational effort and we salute Plant for the Planet and their effort.
