Its August and its Sunday; in Meadowbrook this signals the weekly time to harvest and meet your neighbor. With work parties happening all around Meadowbrook, the livability opportunity is a growing trend.
Whether one is helping out at the Nathan Hale Urban Farm, the Meadowbrook Pond, the good work of Green Seattle Partnerships or at MCGO, volunteers are committed to the greening of Meadowbrook. At the MCGO site, it also means ‘potluck’.
When MCGO comes together, the work parties usually involve 2 hours of service. Its followed by friendly meal together. This gives all a chance to catch up on the lives of all or meet new friends.
This month its also given MC2 an opportunity to say ‘thanks’. With MC2 offices close by, a donation of heat and serve ‘Papa Murphy’s Pizza’ was offered to the hardworking group. Giving time and energy is something to celebrate.
On this Sunday in August, the harvest of veggies was also a time for orchard harvest as well. With a good amount of plums to secure, the effort of sharing also extends to the local food bank (North Helpline). The colors of the season tell the story. Take a look and thanks to all the Meadowbrook Movers.
