Meadowbrook’s Nathan Hale Urban Farm ‘Early Bird’ Sale

Mooving Seattle’s urban space to a food security-focused community benefits from the NHUF yearly effort undertaken at Nathan Hale High School. Training future urban farmers and gardeners starts like this. Dedicated youth and experienced teaching methods making time and resources available to inspire student and community alike.

On Friday, May 11 from 5:00 -7:30p the Spring Plant Sale kicks off its Early Bird Sale. Check out the website nathanhaleurbanfarm.org  to get more details on directions and offerings. The students worked together to produce veggie starts, flowering annuals, herbs and their always popular hanging baskets. Music and light snacks will also accompany the early opening.

On Saturday, May 12, 9a to 3p the public sale kicks off. Having a complimentary project like NHUF creates public awareness of food security and sustainable gardening. Not sure if their logo (shown here)
is new but it does tell the story. Nice! Reducing the foot print on growing and sharing food is a long term positive happening right here in Meadowbrook. MCGO will host a plant sale for members at
Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in late April.
