Aegis Living @ Ravenna sponsored a warm clothing drive this past Holiday Season for the coed shelter at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in Meadowbrook. Pictured is Sue Donovan of Aegis-Ravenna with MC2 contact. In the Fall of 2018 she walked the shelter accommodations and asked if a warm clothing drive for the residents would be welcome?
Of course, ‘yes’, came the reply. The Ravenna site, located on 15th NE, focus‘ on retirement and memory care. Very welcoming and open, with a drive up water fountain as the first thing one sees on a visit. Located near the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park, its ideal for going out for a walk and taking in the fresh air. Playgrounds and a walking track make it ideal for visitors to the Aegis site.
When the coed shelter opened up on December 24th, they were able to pick out new warm clothing, gloves and hats. MC2 also provided a holiday meal for the residents. Add to that, the shelter was open all day on Christmas Day, so, relaxing and hanging out in the TV room, watch a movie or a football game and get ready for 2019. The New Year Day also was a day in for residents; more football, one might guess. Thank you Aegis-Ravenna for the support. Your gift was appreciated and needed. Take care and best to all for the New Year!
