Meadowbrook’s Luminary Walk at the Pond

Meadowbrook Community Center and Pool are recognized as the originator and host of Matthews Beach Polar Bear Plunge each New Year. This year it is on the schedule again. Last year it was a change from previous Plunges, with more opportunities to enjoy the event. Seattle Parks also hosted  a visit from local coffee trucks for the celebration of the first day of the year.

Another less known cold weather outdoor event comes up soon on December 7th at the Meadowbrook Pond. Beginning at 530p and going until 730p, the community sponsored event will hold its 10th annual gathering. As a winter tradition, it’s close to home and plenty of parking at the Meadowbrook Community Center.

Special ‘thanks’ to all the contributors that make this walk something special.

With glimmering water and critters all around, the lights and trails welcome all to greet the early darkness. Bring your dog, share the event with your friends. And enjoy not jumping into the water in your swimsuit.
