Micro greens, Macro CARE

BIG thanks to the local farm-school program from Waldorf HS at Magnuson Park. The indoor growing program story was shared here last summer (https://www.mc-care.org/mccare/index.php/2019/06/06/indoor-farmers-at-magnuson-park/). The future is here and food security could not be a bigger issue than today. Their donation of microgreens (sunflower and pea sprouts, yum!) to the Maple Leaf SHARE shelter is part of an overall community effort during the 2019 Covid Pandemic.

The high school program dovetails nicely with middle schoolers work and donation of plum trees to MCGO this past late winter (https://www.mc-care.org/mccare/index.php/2020/02/26/school-kid-gift/). We appreciate student Aliya G for the planning and delivery to the SHARE Coed Shelter in Meadowbrook. Residents have sheltered in place since late March.

If you’d like to donate to support residents sheltering in place, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b49aba72aa02-maple. New dates have been added to account for directive from WA State Governor Jay Inslee. Thanks to those who can help,
