Pollinator CARE

Kim (left) and MCGO Steward Sue McGann at Pollinator Site

Thank you, Kim. Small steps, small grant received. Recently, as a MCGO volunteer, she received a grant from the Washington Native Plant Society. Great work, big need.

The goal is to increase pollinators at Meadowbrook Community Gardens and Orchards. The announcement gives volunteers an opportunity at the site to build native pollinators into the successful garden bed plan. The community effort provides food to our local food bank.

Garden Steward Sue McGann leads a dedicated neighbor group that is a regular donor of locally grown fruits and vegetables. Complimenting the Nathan Hale Urban Farm and Maple Leaf Lutheran Church’s on-site effort, strengthens our community. On top of that, the knowledge and culture of food security needs in the city of Seattle are growing, season to season. Great stuff.
