Summer treat for 8!

The song ‘Schools Out (for summer)’ was bouncing around in my head this week (lots of room?). My task, drop off ‘thank you’ cards to the eight students at Olympic Hills Elementary. This Lake City school has had to navigate a difficult school year and they all did it! Great work to students, staff and teachers.

MC2’s program coordinator, Kaela Cunningham had worked remotely with our after school ELL program at the school  in ‘zoom’ mode. As this very different school year closed, the idea of a fun summer reward for the hardworking 8 students would be a yummy trip to Lake City’s Lil’ Tiger Ice Cream Parlor.

Delivering the yummy ‘Thank You’s’ to these hardworking scholars also lifts up a new business in Lake City. With many varieties and friendly service, it’s a great way to kick off the summer. My favorite, Huckleberry Ice Cream, very popular too.
