These last few weeks, Seattle Park’s MCGO has been prepping to button up for the winter. Thank Waldorf School for this great effort. The students and staff have focused on most of Meadowbrook’s Orchards sprawling vista of gardens and trails. And MC2 was there.
Whether it’s mulching productive fruit trees or cutting back the invasive blackberry menace; the one hour a day, three days a week really make an impact. It really highlights a known community dynamic. More hands, make light work.
A community can lean on each other for knowledge, both applied and in planning. See for yourself, enjoy a brisk Fall work. Ponds, tennis courts, nature walks, and a great playground offer an energizing time in Meadowbrook. Notice also, rolling Waldorf preschoolers enjoying a downhill orchard ‘ride’. The community effort of care also shares the ‘big picture’.
A community can lean on each other for knowledge, both applied and in planning. See the many fruit trees and consistent garden applied year-in, year-out. Harvests that give back, harvests that highlight the strength of urban farming, and harvests that a household can create themselves. Many mini harvests make light work for food security.
