This long-time project usually is bustling with loaded up holiday gifts and volunteers scrambling to get family orders together. Donors are usually happily organizing gift donations with their families and friends. Then Covid 19 arrived and those who CARE, have shifted to card gifts for those in our community in need.
This is the second season dealing with ‘no gifts’ zone. The hope is for a return to normal. With recipients signed up and donors involved, packaging up the kindness happened this past Sunday afternoon. BIG ‘thanks’ to the leadership team at Lake City Holiday Project. Big packets get cards for families with 3 or more children and small packets for 2 or less children. With ages 0-18 covered, LCHP has also included grocery cards for each family in need, along with the retail cards for children’s gifts.
With over 600 children covered by donors; we realize and appreciate the giving spirit and abundant CARE the community has shown. Thank you, and happy holidays to all.
