Ms Charlotte’s sixth grade class rolled up their sleeves with a MCGO work visit this past week. The weather was ‘springy’, which translates to cold and wet. The results also offer a glimpse at how a little by many goes a long way.
The garden and orchard site has been transformed over the last year. With high schoolers and grade schoolers from Waldorf meeting several days a week. Imagine, along with MCGO stakeholders, a group of youth scholars transform 7 acre space that was ignored and delayed for months.
A constant battle on this day? The sinister nonnative blackberry. The youth also helped with the developing new hummingbird garden space. Ms Charlotte also worked with several students on pruning. The school has recently adopted this section of the Orchard. MC2 welcomes interest and any time groups can give.
