School year, holiday season, nightly shelter and a dedicated neighborhood to help fight hunger. These are the ‘seasons’ of MC2’s Meadowbrook and the dedication to community is an important part of life here.
With schools on break, holidays months away, shelter in transition and all the MCGO plants watered and care for all still happening, we’ve got another seasonal piece of CARE to celebrate. Highlighting 32nd Ave Greenway, safety and slower speeds are part of Meadowbrook’s pedestrian friendly culture.
Meadowbrook welcomes this summer the kids bike safety, training, practice and leveled learning outdoor program. Pedalheads, Vancouver BC based, is at the Meadowbrook Plaza (located at NE 100th/32nd NE) as well as Magnuson Park and Dahl Playfield. The bike camp first expansion was to Seattle in 2013.
Brittany Bowsher is Washington States manager and has two other NE Seattle sites, along with many other Puget sound locations (pedalheads.com). Having a Lake City location helps serves those in our neighborhood.
With easy access to Meadowbrook’s 32nd Ave Greenway, advanced levels take their practice skills through the neighborhood. Creating yearly awareness around safe routes gives everyone the awareness of multiple modes of transportation in our city. Give a wave and support safe bicycling in your neighborhood.
