The last two years brought the greatest challenges many of us have faced in our lives and we are so proud of how our NE Seattle community met those challenges. Those of us on LCHP Team feel immense gratitude to everyone who went out of their way to make donations to provide holiday gift support to needy children in our area.
We have launched the 2022 Lake City Holiday Project and we have decided to combine the successes of the recent past with the processes we have built over many years. We have offered our registered families the option of receiving either gifts or gift cards. Some families may chose gifts for their youngest children and gift cards for their oldest, some may decide gift cards work best for their whole family, and some may prefer to go back to our original gift-only format. This is a new concept for our project and we hope you will embrace it with us.
To get involved as a Sponsor or Donor, go directly to our Lake City Holiday Project page where you will find links for you to register to sponsor a child, make a financial donation, and get answers to any questions you may have.
The deadline for donating gifts, gift cards or cash is December 5, 2022 and the distribution to families will be December 14, 2022.
Last year we raised more than $35,000 in community gift card and cash donations and received a generous grant in support of our work. We provided $75 in gift and grocery cards to each of more than 600 children. Given the state of inflation and the price of gas, we can only hope to hit this number again. But then, hope is what drives us to give our time and treasure to this worthy program every year!
This year marks the 36th year since the founding of this project, and as always, it is an honor to work with this community of friends and neighbors. For further information and to make a donation or register to sponsor a child or children, please visit the Lake City Holiday Project page.
Thank you for your generosity!
Sincerely,
The Lake City Holiday Project Leadership Team
P.S. Last December, KIRO-TV was kind enough to feature the Lake City Holiday Project during their “Your Voices” segment of their evening news. You can see that video here: https://youtu.be/Rr8XzhYgCIQ
