Our Most Urgent Need

The cold weather and the pandemic make sheltering particularly difficult. You can help with groceries or meals.

Projects

Many of our project rely on volunteers to accomplish their goals. See below for how you can participate!

Lake City Holiday Project

Sponsor: If you are an individual or group wishing to sponsor one or more children by purchasing gifts and delivering them to us, please fill out our SPONSOR FORM and we will send you the family or individual information and their gift card wish list. Please note: our Sponsor Form is active only during the months of October and November.

Donate: If you are an individual who wishes to use your credit card or PayPal to donate cash for the purchase of gift cards, click the DONATE BUTTON or send a check, made out to Meadowbrook Community CARE with LCHP in the memo line, to:

Meadowbrook Community CARE

Seattle, WA 98125

Display: Would you like to offer a positive holiday experience at your business? Connect your customers to an organization who supports children in need during this giving season. Displaying a Lake City Holiday Project informational poster and/or gift tags makes a difference for your community. Get involved!

SHARE Shelter at Maple Leaf Lutheran

Meal donations to the SHARE shelter are organized online at mc-care.org. Have an interest in advocating for other shelter needs? Let us know. Examples: towel drive, sock drive or hygiene supply drive, let us know!

Meadowbrook Community Gardens & Orchards

The community group meets on Sundays, weather, season and time permitting. Interested in large group seasonal volunteer visits, let us know. Weeding, mulching, planting and harvesting are the common tasks at hand.

We have two volunteer tutor service days a week at Olympic Hills Elementary School in Lake City. The after school programming runs from 3-5pm. Volunteer!

Urban Cross Trek

Are you in search of a community project for your school? Want an outdoor service effort that builds teamwork, supports environmental urban resilience? Contact us to discuss opportunities and schedules.

32nd Avenue Greenway

Share the safe streets message. Do you live along or near the 32nd NE street greenway? Interested in having a block party? How about a play streets day for kids? With no sidewalks, the community can help keep the streets safe. Volunteer!
